About this ethics

Businesses can benefit from facial recognition in a variety of ways. For example, they can use the technology to increase security, like requiring it to log into apps or to gain access to a building. They can also use it to identify thieves from security footage. Facial recognition can even help blind people “see” by reading the faces of others. Of course, with all of the potential benefits of facial recognition, it is necessary to acknowledge its potential shortcomings. For example, bias in data sets can result from incomplete data or unrepresentative data. This can disproportionately harm certain segments of the population. There are also concerns regarding individual privacy and freedom of information.
